Guy Smith
Guy is a 47 Year old Union activist and currently President of AUPE (since Oct, 2009). He has been involved in AUPE for over 20 years holding many positions including Vice-president for 6 years during the Klein era when he fought hard and mobilized members against privatization and cutbacks including leading an illegal strike.
Guy believes in the collective power of workers to win struggles and shape society and that mobilization at the worksite and community level is key to success. He has held positions in the broader labour movemnet as a Vice-president of the Alberta Federation of Labour and has shown support on countless picket lines, demonstrations and rallies over the years.
