A number of items today: Diana Gibson will be on ACCESS, talking about whether the provincial government is doing enough to stimulate the economy. We have a upcoming presentation at International Week on "The Evolving World of Water Management" (Feb 1). Also, Diana Gibson and Asbjorn Wahl present a talk on "Alternatives to tax cuts and public program cuts" on Feb 11. Finally, the Alberta Federation of Labour/Parkland Institute conference, Remaking Alberta, is just around the corner, featuring Asbjorn Wahl as the keynote speaker.

This is just a reminder about an amazing new leadership program for young people committed to social and environmental justice. The deadline for applications is tomorrow, January 22. Next Up Alberta is a program for young emerging leaders in Alberta.

Parkland and the Alberta Federation of Labour are hosting a joint conference called Remaking Alberta: Recession alternatives for an Alberta that works,
February 12-13, 2010 at Lister Conference Centre on the University of Alberta Campus, in Edmonton. Volunteers make this conference happen. If you are interested in helping, let us know how you want to volunteer. Conference volunteers can have their registration waived.
